Serve

The Georgia Police K9 Foundation is committed to supporting K9s by providing training resources and help during retirement.

  • Training

K9s have jobs and need to keep continually practice their skills, just like their handlers. With increasingly limited financial resources, many law enforcement agencies do not have the funding for training and conferences for their K9 teams.

We work closely with handlers and offer seminars and conferences on the latest law enforcement topics. In addition, with your generous donations, we are able to fund scholarships for K9 teams around the state to attend other vital workshops, training, and conferences around the country. We aim to serve K9 handlers and K9 officers by ensuring they are well equipped to handle whatever challenges they face.

  • Retired K9s

Many law enforcement agencies are working with very limited financial resources when it comes to k9 officers. In addition, the families taking care of retired k9s are often unable to fund expensive veterinary bills and other costs. Whether it is an expensive medical procedure, physical therapy, or their favorite treats, we believe that k9 officers deserve to be taken care of after all their years of service to the community.

We aim to not only aid in supporting retired k9s, but also educating departments on the needs of these officers. Many communities across the state have begun providing retirement assistance to retired k9s as part of their regular budgets.
